Tiebreaker Procedure

TWO-TEAM TIE

  1. Results of head-to-head competition during the regular season.

  2. Point differential.

  3. Points allowed.

  4. Coin flip.

MULTIPLE-TEAM TIE

  1. Results of head-to-head competition during the regular season.

    1. When comparing records against a single team or a group of teams, the higher winning percentage shall prevail, even if the number of games played against the team or group are unequal (i.e. 2-0 is better than 3-1); in the case of tied percentages vs. the group of 1.000 or 0.000 the following shall apply: 2-0 is better than 1-0; 0-1 is better than 0-2.

    2. If two teams are tied for the top position, the two-team tiebreaker is applied.

    3. After the top team(s) among the tied teams are determined, the remaining teams will apply the two-team or multiple-team tiebreaker.

  2. If the teams are still tied, the following tiebreakers will be applied.

    1. Point differential

    2. Points allowed

    3. If two teams are tied for the top position, the two-team tiebreaker is applied.

    4. After the top team(s) among the tied teams are determined, the remaining teams will apply the two-team or multiple-team tiebreaker.
